When
we talk about crystals, the metaphysical properties are included.
But what does “metaphysical” mean? Simply put, it means
all that exists in the non-physical, mostly immeasurable and unquantifiable
realms--things that can not be seen or heard or felt by normal means
through our five senses. When most people hear the word, metaphysical,
thoughts of paranormal and supernatural--”whoo-whoo” things
often are the first to come to mind. One of the most exciting aspects
of the times we live in is the growing acceptance of things that exist
outside of our physical realm, but that have great effect on us--or
we them. The movie “the Secret” exploded the concept of
the Law of Attraction--one of the primary metaphysical/spiritual laws--into
the mass consciousness, just as Star Wars introduced the concept of
“The Force”. Quantum Physics is beginning to verify much
of what metaphysicians have taken for granted as valid for centuries--like
the major link between our minds, emotions and bodies. They have also
been able to verify the connection between us and every other thing
that exists outside of time and space--like distance healing in Reiki
and other Alternative Health practices. Crystal
of the Week:
Amethyst is a purple stone which is usually clear, but does have some varieties that are opaque, with milky white marbling. This is a form of Silicon Dioxide--basic Quartz--with iron added into the mix. There are also other colors of Amethyst--including green and pink, which can be seen in our semi-precious collection in the front case. The purple color of this stone is associated with vision and high spirituality--and the Baltimore Ravens! The
angel associated with this stone is the Archangel Remiel, the Angel
of Hope.
The Astrological Signs associated with Amethyst are Aquarius and Pisces.
The Metaphysical properties include: ** Resonates with the Third-eye, Soma, Crown and Higher Crown chakras. ** Encourages selflessness and spiritual wisdom. ** Enhances metaphysical abilities and is an excellent stone for meditation and opening the Third Eye. ** Amethyst blocks negative environmental energies. **
